It must be the subconscious thoughts of Monday morning that keep me from enjoying a good nights sleep on Sundays; but nevertheless, I’m here working away with thanks to my lovely new french press.
I may have many hours before I’m back at home, but I already know what I’ll get up to tonight! After I clean up my shoe pile, aka. my bedroom floor, with a glass of red wine in hand I’m going to prep lunch for the rest of the week. What’s on the menu?? Zucchini Lasagna. If all works out perhaps I’ll snap a few photos to post later this week. After everything’s in the oven I’m super excited to start “eat, pray, love” by Elizabeth Gilbert. I received my copy from a friend last year for my birthday and was inspired by the movie trailer staring Julia Roberts, due out this August, to pick it off my bookshelf and make it my next read. I’m guilty of buying many books at once (or receiving books as gifts), storing them on my bookshelf, and waiting for the day I feel moved to pick them up.
Eat, Pray, Love is about “Elizabeth Gilbert [who] had everything a modern American woman was supposed to want – husband, country home, successful, career- but instead of feeling happy and fulfilled, she felt consumed by panic and confusion. This wise and rapturous book is the story of how she left behind all these outward marks of success, and of what she found in their place. Following a divorce and a crushing depression, Gilbert set out to examine three different cultures: pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and on the Indonesian island of Bali, a balance between worldly enjoyment and divine transcendence.” Hopefully it lives up to the hype…I have a sneaking suspicion that it will!
